SITUATION: Conduct a 24 Hour operation as a fundraiser in order to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org).

MISSION: The 24 Hour Brigade, and all satellite detachments, will complete one-thousand (1000) miles upon the Yukon High School (Yukon, Oklahoma) track between the hours of 1700 20 MARCH 2009 and 1700 21 MARCH 2009.

INTENT: All 24 Hour Brigade troopers receive donation pledges from family, friend, and/or business sponsors. Sponsors will pledge a fixed amount per mile that a trooper runs upon the track. All troopers will combine to run or walk 1000 miles in 24 hours.

EXECUTION: Troopers who choose to accept the mission will establish a personal mileage goal, seek sponsors to pledge a donation per mile in accordance with a trooper’s personal mileage goal, and run or walk the goal distance at the Yukon High School track (or remotely) on 20 or 21 March 2009.

TASK ORGANIZATION:

Cadet David Swanson, 24 Hour Brigade Commander:

DAVID

David is a cadet in his 3rd year at the United States Military Academy at West Point. He is an avid runner with a heart for helping soldiers, and The 24 Hour Brigade was his idea for combining the two passions. David will be running for all 24 hours of the mission, planning on completing 120-130 miles. Follow David’s training for the 24 Hour mission in his blog HERE.

You, 24 Hour Brigade Trooper: The 24 Hour Brigade Commander needs YOU in order to reach the unit’s 1000 mile goal. You are the boots on the ground in this fight. Without you, the operation will be 880 or so miles short of completion. That’s a NO GO! Enlist in the 24 Hour Brigade today! Begin to seek sponsors who will pledge to donate based upon the number of miles you complete during the mission. Sign up HERE.

Corporate Sponsor, 24 Hour Brigade Operations Officer: Every combat-ready unit needs a solid staff of Operations officers. The 24 Hour Brigade needs you. Corporate Sponsors pledge to make a donation based upon the entire number of miles run on the track (and remotely) during the 24 Hour mission. A Field-Grade officer pledges 50 cents per mile completed up to (or beyond!) 1000 miles. Flag Officer sponsors pledge $1 (or more!) per mile completed up to or beyond 1000 miles. Learn more about joining Brigade Staff HERE.
